Kellie Rasberry

Kellie Rasberry has been talking for a living for more than 30 years — which, if you know Kellie, feels like a career choice that was probably inevitable.

 

It just wasn’t the career she originally planned.

 

Kellie grew up in South Carolina dreaming of becoming an actress. But after a local radio station owner spotted her at a talent convention and suggested she might have the perfect personality for radio, she gave broadcasting a shot. She started out reporting local news, worked her way into hosting her own morning show, and eventually took a chance on an opening she saw advertised for a morning show in Dallas.

 

On May 31, 1994, Kellie joined the Kidd Kraddick Morning Show.

 

More than three decades later, she’s still there.

 

Along the way, Kellie has become one of the most recognizable personalities in morning radio, entertaining millions of listeners with her humor, opinions, honesty and willingness to share the sometimes wonderful — and sometimes incredibly messy — parts of real life.

 

Her career has brought plenty of memorable moments and recognition, including co-hosting “Live with Regis,” receiving a Gracie Award from the Alliance for Women in Media, and being honored with the prestigious MIW Airblazer Award.

 

But some of the work closest to Kellie’s heart happens away from the studio. She serves on the Board of Directors for Kidd’s Kids, the nonprofit founded by Kidd Kraddick that creates unforgettable experiences for children with life-altering or life-threatening conditions and their families.

 

And then there’s Allen.

 

Kellie and her husband, Allen Evans, co-host “A Sandwich and Some Lovin’,” a podcast born from their relationship and their very different perspectives on just about everything. What started as conversations about dating and marriage has grown into years of stories about relationships, family, travel, pop culture and whatever happens to be going on in their lives that week.

 

Together, Kellie and Allen share a blended family of four children, along with rescue dogs Larry and Zoey.

 

Today, Kellie’s life stretches well beyond the radio studio. She’s a broadcaster, podcaster, content creator, wife, mom, friend and someone who has spent most of her adult life sharing the journey with an audience that feels more like extended family.

 

And after more than 30 years behind a microphone, Kellie still has plenty to say.
